After a completely disorganised rowing

After a completely disorganised rowing meeting, some crews are arranged for the next few days. Another meeting on Wednesday should make things slightly clearer. Entries for the Head to Head 2001 have to be in by tonight, and, whilst undoubtedly on of the worst races on the Cam, I'm going to enter a crew.

My project is close to working, but seems to be having a large problem with a trivial piece of code.

Well, I've just about finished all of my immediate tasks, and the whole boat organisation problem has solved itself quite neatly. Had another e-mail from Microsoft with a Needs assessment form attached to be filled in. Exciting times.

All that remains is to complete a personal statement for my progress review with the Vice-Master, 'setting out [my] aspirations/goals and the extent to which they will have [been] fulfilled while at Jesus College'. Time for a bit of thought perhaps.

Now this is one of the most intereting pictures I've seen in a long time. An complete image of illumination from across the globe at a single instant.

Just posted by letter of offer back to Microsoft. It's been at least a week since I signed it, and now I've finally brought myself to post it. The start of something new, that much is certain.

Just finished watching Mercy Mission: The Rescue of Flight 771. A good film, even if it is looking fairly old these days. After a hearty chicken soup for lunch, I think it's about time to start doing some work.

I've never really considered whether or not man really landed on the moon. To be honest, I'm not sure it entirely matters, and I guess it's good to know that people always will be suspicious. Certainly gives rise to a few questions, but I'd hardly say conclusive evidence to refute the claim.

Finally getting somewhere with my project now. No longer to I have to manually refresh each page to see any changes. IE actually does seem to obey the rules fairly well, unfortunately, they are not especially well documented.

The computer centre is still closed, so it doesn't look as if we'll be getting this terms training schedule any time soon.

The film was good, albeit a little strange. Good twist at the end. Sitting here at the moment trying to decide what to do this summer. Two/three months is a long time fill - management consultancy intership? - maybe. Big Brother is auditioning for new contestants soon...

I think it's fairly well known that pain numbs with time. Not that I'm feeling any at the moment, but that's the whole point. I wonder if our bodies gradually degrade (over a lifetime) and therefore technically speaking we are always suffering more pain, only we can't feel it. Hmmm.

Kuwait and home

Taken from Lauren's diary of our trip to South East Asia

Got to Kuwait at about 1am and were told we had to got to a hotel and wait until 12pm for a flight to London. Some people made a fuss and we were put on a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt. Got there about 8am and then got a flight to Heathrow. Got the bus to Cambridge from Heathrow.
